Thessaloniki Plant
The Thessaloniki facility is located in the industrial area of Thessaloniki, Northern Greece.
The production of aggregates for the major road construction projects in Northern Greece, the recovery of ferrous and non-ferrous metals and the production of secondary raw materials for the cement industry are the main activities of our Thessaloniki branch.
Furthermore, since 2005 AEIFOROS SA operates a dismantling and recycling center for End of Life Vehicles (ELV) licensed by the sole competent organism in Greece EDOE. Hazardous waste included in the ELV are safely removed and car and small trucks are dismantled in an environmental-friendly way. All the procedures for the withdrawal of the car from the State register are carried out by AEIFOROS SA.
In 2012 the company invested in a high-tech post shredder treatment plant for the recycling of shredder residues (ASR or fluff) in order to recover metals and plastics and produce alternative fuel. With this ASR recycling facility, AEIFOROS SA provides the Greek recycling industry with the only way-out for the handling of automotive shredder residues in the Balkans since ASR cannot be landfilled. Processing ASR and recovering valuable material and energy is the only way to reach the 95% target of EU for ELV recycling and valorization.
The facility is certified according to ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015 and OHSAS 18001:2007 by the independent organism TÜV AUSTRIA HELLAS.
