AEIFOROS S.A.  has been established in 2001 by SIDENOR S.A.. Purpose of the company is the recycling of all by-products arising from the production processes of the industries belonging to the Group VIOHALCO, contributing decisively to environment protection.The company recycles a wide range of steel industry by-products,  as well as  by-products from the copper and aluminium industry, processing annually about 300.000 TN.  AEIFOROS S.A. operates two plants in Greece: the one is located in Almyros near Volos with its own port facilities for products dispatch, the second lies by Thessaloniki, Northern Greece. In 2004, AEIFOROS S.A. also established a subsidiary in Bulgaria AEIFOROS BULGARIA S.A. for the processing of the steel by-products released by the Steelworks STOMANA INDUSTRY S.A.Since 2005, AEIFOROS S.A. also operates an End-of-Life Vehicles depollution unit. After depollution, ELV are recycled in the steelworks of SIDENOR.

The main products of AEIFOROS S.A.:

  • Hard aggregates for the construction of the skid-resistant course in road pavements, certified according to CE 13043,

  • Sand blasting material for metal blasting

  • Mill scale suitably processed for cement production and other applications

  • Plaster base

  • Non-ferrous metals (aluminium, copper, bronze) from End-of-Life Vehicles and domestic electrical appliances.

The company's quality system has been certified in conformity with the requirements of  the standard ELOT EN ISO 9001:2000.In 2006 AEIFOROS S.A. won the first prize of the Greek competition of the European Business Awards for the Environment, in the category "Ecological Product", for the production of ecological hard aggregates for road and other trafficked areas.
